Plex Media Server Setup is a Disaster
So I'm a relatively new Plex enthusiast and have found that trying to use Plex and PIA is basically a recipe for heartbreak and frustration.I setup Plex with no VPN.. works like a champ. The second that PIA is activated.. no dice. I've tried the following:
1. Xflax Batch Files
2. The batch file that PIA's own support posted here (https://helpdesk.privateinternetaccess.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005758263-How-To-Use-Plex-With-Private-Internet-Access)
3. Enabled Port Forwarding in PIA and tried to plug it into Plex.
None of these are working. What the hell am I doing wrong or are these two processes simply never going to work with each other?
Does a person have to go buy a dedicated device to go "obtain media" that's using the VPN and then migrate said media to a totally different device with full access to the internet to then host their media using Plex?
This is very annoying and anybody who feels this pain and has found a solution that a dummy like me can implement would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting fed up.
