No Internet Access Once Connected to VPN- Windows 7

I've recently upgraded from v65 to v7x but have since encountered constant problems that renders my subscription useless. With v65 I rarely encountered connection drops, but each version I've tried since- v72, v77, v78- has led to problems. 

When I'm not connected to VPN (PIA either not running or red icon) my wifi shows as 5/5 with constant access. When I start PIA and connect to my preferred regions, the icon goes green and for a few minutes I will have perfect connectivity as this "unidentified network" shows as having "internet access". Soon after, however, my wifi drops to 3/5 and the unidentified network (which I presume is my VPN connection) will have "no internet access" for 3-4 minutes, upon which all connectivity suddenly drops. The moment I close PIA or disconnect again, wifi is back to full strength.

I've installed various versions of PIA, reinstalled TAP drivers and added PIA to Kaspersky exceptions but nothing has provided a solution, so I'm hoping someone in these forums is able to offer some assistance!

PIA Setup (v78):

PIA Mace/DNS Leak Protection/IPv6 Leak Protection- These three settings are turned on, and encryption settings are the default settings

Running on Windows 7

Kaspersky is the problem.You can set all the exceptions you want with it, it will stick block things like PIA's ruby.
Change anti-virus.

I've been using PIA and KIS for nigh on 4 years now and I've never had an issue.
