PIA in Windows 10 starts but doesn't activate Internet Kill Switch

Hi All,
Maybe you can all help me with this. It's something I've been trying to figure out. When I turn on my Windows 10 computer from a fresh boot, the PIA client program does start but it doesn't seem to start in administrator mode. It doesn't start with the advanced settings activated and so the internet kill switch doesn't automatically start.

Sometimes when I do turn on the advanced settings and the internet kill switch and haven't connected PIA, I still have internet. What is it I need to do so that PIA controls my internet from the start and unless connected Windows can't connect to the internet, windows servers before log in, etc.

I've disabled IPv6, attempted to add pia_manager to the startup folder (which I can't locate) with elevated priveledges and well, so far no luck. PIA is supposed to protect me but it seems that I keep having to re-set it up everytime I want to connect to the internet.

  • Just as an update, I was using v75. I didn't get PIA that long ago, maybe a month ago and that was the download that I was given from the site.

I decided to downloaded the latest version before uninstalling my current version, and following the guide to uninstall TAP9. I also decided to remove the extra files from the Programs and Features and did a Network Reset in Windows 10.

I then reinstalled with v78 before connecting to the internet. Noticed it was a slightly different GUI and didn't have a administrator shield on the installation file icon like v75 after download. Hopefully this helps. I follow up if it doesn't.
