The way PIA handles anonymity as a company to the world wide web should change

I love Private Internet Access, and I primarily bought it because local businesses and my school were beginning to block PIA and many other VPNs even over TCP 443 with OpenVPN. Not only has PIA been added to local Firewalls, many websites such as Netflix, Instagram, Craigslist, and even Google detect me as a bot or completely block me, meaning they know I use PIA. To bypass the firewall, I had to use a VPN with Stealth technology which has fixed my problem completely. PIA should implement stealth technology not only to help people like me who want to bypass censorship but they should also do it for the future removal of Net Neutrality and for the sake of being able to access all websites on the web without being immediately blocked. PIA has all the features I could ever ask for, but this one is crucial to keep PIA reliable.

  • I agree with the poster...  I am a legal users of NETFLIX and didn't like i had problems connecting to my account. This was only fixed when I removed them from PIA's PER APP Permissions.

Once I turned off protection for NETFLIX in the PIA app, it worked fine.  But there are sites that won't allow my FireFox browser to connect because they detected my use of a VPN (PIA).

  • Take PIA out from the parenthesis and just leave VPN. That is because a lot of websites will not allow VPN users access. Their lose.
  • garrettheking when it comes to using PIA to get around blocks that may experience we do offer multiple setup options like using our PIA application, our alternative setups methods using Open VPN, PPTP, Browser extensions (for Chrome, Firefox, Opera), and others. I wanted to mention our other setup options available since it may help.

animal999 at times I have used our PIA Browser extension in Chrome or Firefox for various sites when my PIA application doesn't give me the result I am looking for.

Omnibus_IV when websites don't allow VPNs it's sad for me to see but we may have solutions to get around these blocks.

If any of you continue to experience issues with blocks based on location or other please use our option on our desktop application to reporting these "Blocked sites"  in the settings for us to review.

Should issues persist, please don't hesitate to open a ticket with us at: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/helpdesk/new-ticket and we'll help you out further. Please use ATTN: SMR in the subject.
