Port Forwarding Issue in Vuze

For the last few months, I've been getting the following error on my incoming TCP listening port test after setting up port forwarding. Is this something that I can ignore? I believe that it started after the penultimate update to PIA.

Testing port TCP 51390 ...
Unable to test: Invalid port given, or test service failed.
Another application may already be using this port..
(Error: Unexpected end of file from server).

It's happening with both my MBP and my Hackintosh in High Sierra and Sierra. Some  torrents turn to green eventually, others stay at yellow.

Just wondering...

Thanks for your help.

  • Ultimately fixed it by resetting all of the preferences.
  • Hello and gratitude for your post as I am having a similar problem.  I am on a Windows 10 laptop using Vuze and PIA.  Following was the reply that I got from Support:

    Hi Jim,

Thank you for contacting customer support.

The Socks proxy offered can only be connected to over port 1080, and it does not use OpenVPN. The port forawrding feature we offer can only be invoked on an OpenVPN connection due to the technology requirements of the feature.

Please let us know if we can assist you with anything else.

Mind going more into detail as what preferences yourself reset?  Mwah! GRATITUDE!

    Kind regards, Jim.

Let Peace extend from my mind to yours.
