Comcast Notification of Claimed Copyright Infringement Letters

I have been using PIA for over a year.  Recently, I have received Notification of Claimed Copyright Infringement letters from Comcast on 3 occasions.  I have run every leak test that I could find via the forums here, and none of them show any leak, yet I just got two more letters today.  WHAT IS GOING ON???

  • Thanks for the reply.  I am using my own modem and router, however, not ones provided by Comcast, Gateway or otherwise, so bridge mode is not applicable in this situation.

First, and you do not have to answer this question.

Is the information on the notice correct? Meaning, did your ISP identify date and time and download title? If so, then there are basically only two places they got that info. From the torrent swarm or from some kind of tracking bug in your PC. I doubt the latter but the former is probably accurate.

Again, you do not need to answer that question here.

    OK...

Are you using a proxy? If not, then start using a proxy. They will help mask your IP address.
Do you have torrent ip testing running? Go to IP leak test and get the torrent test. There is also one at IP Magnet, TORGuard, and a few other. These test torrents will tell you the IP address that the torrent is seeing.

Next, ensure your WebRTC is disabled.

Next, ensure your DNS is static. Meaning your local machine and your router are using the same DNS address. In this case, 209.222.18.222 primary, and 209.222.18.218 secondary. This will ensure that you are using PIA DNS. If you want to change it later you can do that, Bur for now, lock your DNS down so it is always the same in both your NIC and your TAP.

One more item to disable is your Java. Java is not a safe application to use. There are bugs in it that may allow someone to get into your system. Or so I have read.
  • What torrent client are you using?
  • Hi, I have been hit with two AUP's in one week. That's why I just cigned up for PIA.  I think because I was using "1.1.1.1", I thought it was supposed to be secure but they specifically block some torrent sites (tpb.org for one, not that I use that much). TPB is totalyl blocked. DON'T USE any DNS that are not given by your ISP. I think they actually were the ones who reported me. So I deleted my DNS entries, note, it does take a while to revert back to normal.

I wan to ask, how do I check for leaks while using Cox Cable, anyone know?
  • Let google be your friend. Just search on DNS Leak Test and that should bring up multiple sites.

I think its due to the torrent you dloaded.Or the exe w/e. The thingos that it's not about playing the game once you have it.
