PIA v80 disconnects when display shuts off
After installing v80 desktop for Mac OS X today, the client automatically disconnects whenever my display shuts off. This is NOT computer sleep or hard disk sleep, those settings are turned off, this is simply the display shutting off after a period of time. I have tested and verified this multiple times today. FYI I am on Mac OS 10.12.6.

I suspect the reason this is occurring is because you're losing network connectivity wholesale when the display shuts off, though the best way to verify this would be for me to take a look at a debug log. OpenVPN tries to reconnect several times if connectivity is lost, but if it does time out, the application won't try to reconnect until you prompt it to do so manually.
It looks like the network card being disabled when the display is locked is a fairly common problem in MacOS. I found a few different workarounds here.
