Why I can Watch BBC only with Firefox plugin only

Can someone from PIA straight up tell me why I can watch BBC iPlayer if I use firefox Addon (doesn't work with Chrome PIA addon) but if I connect to South Hapmton via Desktop client, I get geo blocked.

It's great that I can watch it anytime but this is very frustrating as I want to use youtube0-dl to download the program and watch it later.

    Some programs have proxy/geo settings built in, perhaps you can check your options, it might help you. Search for free proxies online.
