Getting new IP address when selecting "Reconnect [country name]"

I am frequently prevented from using Google search while connected to my closest PIA server. It doesn't matter how many times I complete the Captchas, it never lets me complete a search. Similarly, I'm sometimes prevented from posting to some forums because of "abuse" from my public-facing IP address.

I assume this is either because of a legitimate high amount of traffic from other users assigned that IP address, or someone is abusing the service.

Sometimes I can reconnect to the same location and I get a new IP address and that fixes the problem. But frequently I am assigned the exact same IP no matter how many times I reconnect. I can switch to other locations, but that comes with a speed penalty, because they are all geographically far away.

Is there any way I can always be assigned a new IP address when reconnecting to the same location?

  • Additionally, I can't confirm my email address for this forum, because the confirmation email never arrives in my mailfence inbox, even when I "Click here to resend the confirmation email."
  • Using OpenVPN for example, you can insert the ip address of the server rather than the name address, you can list possible ip address using a command like nslookup xx.privateinternetaccess.com.
If your using the pia client, you could edit the ip address in the region_data file (windows pia/data), i've not tried other devices but their maybe a similar file. This file/address is updated frequently to provide you the best server (speed/load etc), hence you see it changes sometimes on reconnect.
