Can't sign in/sync OneNote on Android now!

Hi,

When VPN is active, I cannot sync desktop OneNote but had no problem with Android.. now recently I have the same issues with Android!

When PIA VPN active - (TCP 443 UK) - I can't sync or access OneNote on both desktop or android but when I disable it - suddenly i can sign in and sync.

any ideas how I can sync/sign in without disabling my VPN? I post on Microsoft forum but they are useless suggesting your provider might be blocking ports blah blah the usual garabage even though those privacy invaders pobably did this intentionally.

Thanks

  • You can take action to avoid OneNote's synchronization problems on a mobile device:

Check and make sure that OneNote is running in the foreground.

Log out and log back in to OneNote to reset your credentials and avoid authentication problems.

Force the synchronization of a oneNote
  • I found some other information.. NordVPN allows android sync of OneNote but when I activate PIA - it doesn't (speaking specifically for Android)

Any ideas why this is? Is PIA blocking something from MS server to allow sync whilst Nord is not?

Some things sync weirdly when PIA is active but some parts of onenote don't.. its very strange..
  • Hello TheLynx1,

I am sorry for the inconvenience of the issue. Some apps may not work in conjunction of the VPN due to security of the application. However, have you tried the following:

    - change servers
    - change ports and protocols (tcp/udp)
    - clear cache and cookies in the browser
    - changed browsers to see if one is faster
    - performed a clean uninstall/reinstall
(uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling a fresh copy)
    - logged out of the application and reboot the device
(then logged back in to try and connect successfully)

If you need more assistance, please let us know. - PIA CS TEAM
