Using Mobile Data while on Home Network with PIA

I use my mobile device to do any downloading..but only while on my home network.. but this day, I turned on PIA see how it was running.. and then went ahead and downloaded couple large items.. next thing I know I get message that I used all my data and I'm on pause.. WTF over 4 gigs used of my mobile while whole time I am on home network wifi and with mobile off home network is doing as it should..  I can't have this happen ever again.. thank fully i'm two days from cycle end.. but dang sucks I need to spend 1/2 years cost of PIA because I used it for 2 hrs.. thankfully my provider just pauses you..

Thank you for the inquiry. I am quite unsure how PIA was affected in this circumstance. We will need more information and possibly a debug log re guarding the incident. However, the VPN is not what caused you to go over 4gb of downloading. What/when/and how the user downloads content is completely up to the users discretion. We provide a service. How the user decides to use that service is also their discretion.

What happens when your ISP provides you with an internet connection? Our service then encrypts this connection, making it anonymous and secure. Your ISP cannot see what you are downloading, because of the encryption used by our service. Other people online cannot see who you really are, because our server acts as a middle-man between you and any connections you are establishing, so all anyone sees when you connect to something is our server. This then makes it appear to the internet that your IP Address is the IP address of our server. The encryption offered by the VPN provides security, privacy, and anonymity from prying eyes.

You may have selected the 2 files that were much larger than anticipated which caused the incident. We can not say for certain, but we also recommend closing all programs but the VPN when downloading to avoid an overload of data. - PIA CS TEAM
