How to install the official 'pia-app' on Fedora

The easiest way to install the 'ubuntu/mint/debian/arch/manjaro installer' on Fedora is to, 'dnf -y install synaptic´. Probably the installation of synaptic makes the pia-installer compatible with apt-get on Fedora or something. After the installation you can install the shiny pia-app and use it without issues. If you would like to try synaptic on Fedora, make sure you are running Xorg; synaptic is not compatible with Wayland.
Good luck

Actually dnf install apt does the the trick for Fedora, and sudo rights of course.

I noticed after restart pia does work, but could not get online with pia running, a package was missing,
sudo dnf install openvpn-auth-ldap  and a restart fixed that.

Private Internet Access has an installation script that sets up NetworkManager for use with the VPN.
  • Ik know. But i prefer the shiny and easy to use pia-app.
