Consistent Update Issue

Every single time that there is a new update, while applying the update, I receive the following error:

Try Again does nothing, just a fruitless loop. Continue does just that, continues, but one then has to wonder, OK so I have continued

through an error of some sort, ...this cant be OK, because something isn't as it is supposed to be now.

PIA ultimately ends up updating itself, and runs, but that error tells me that something is still not right.

This means the file is in use in the background and the process does not quit correctly. Another way is to make sure all parts of the PIA app are no longer running in the background before updating, or install in safemode if the process is somehow stuck.
