qBittorrent question!!

So I read somewhere that you could set up qBittorrent to use only the connection that PIA uses, so I tried setting it up right but I just wanna make sure. In Windows 10 I go to Network and Sharing Center, change adapter settings, then I see 3 options. "Ethernet" and under it it shows the name of my home network, then "Ethernet 4" and under it it says Unidentified network, and under that it says Private Internet Access Network Adapter, and the last option "Wifi" and it's not connected. So in qBittorrent under Advanced I should put Ethernet 4 as the Network Interface, correct? Also, under Network and Sharing center, it shows my home network as a Private network with connection as Ethernet, and then Unidentified network as a Public network with connection as Ethernet 4.

  • I personally do not recall the ability to do this on the local machine, I do this using a firewall called Comodo. I set up a filter that says if the MAC address for the PIA TAP adapter is active then certain application/programs are allowed to access the internet. If the MAC address matches my regular adapter then block access to certain apps/programs.

For example. I sometimes will use different servers just to see what kind of performance I get. This creates a problem if my Outlook is running, The problem being Google will flag my email as being hacked. So, if the PIA TAP adapter is active, Outlook is blocked because the MAC address for Outlook is not in use. That protects me from getting a hack notice from Google.

That is how I do it. What you explained might work but I have never tried it nor have I looked to see if it was possible, JMHO
