Creating own VPN (?)

Hello everyone,

I'm far from a VPN expert, I just read some stuff here and on the Internet so I have some questions. I would like to "connect" two PCs that I own A and B, they are on different places, and then be able to access the Internet from A using B's IP. I read about creating VPNs online but they refer to 3rd party servers and here is what I don't understand if in my case I need this 3rd party server.

For this do I need a VPN router? I don't require 24h connection.

Finally, if someone could share some knowledge, links or programs I would be very grateful

Best!

  • I doubt you would find help on the forums of a VPN that does this as a business. If a VPN was easy to do on your own, then this wouldn't be a thing that could be provided as a service. Also, individual VPNs are useless for privacy, because your usually the only one on it, and must figure a way not to log. I can actually go on all day on why this is.

As for your dilemma, to connect two computers you would need the IP of the other computer, because if you use a VPN IP, your only talking to a VPN server. This completely negates the security of a VPN, because you would instead need the ISP assigned IP.
