Trusted Networks / monitor slow to connect on untrusted networks
Hi all,
I wonder if you can help. I'm using the official PIA app, and recently discovered the Trusted Networks feature - which is great, exactly what I wanted so that PIA would connect on basically any wifi except my home one! - but it's not quite perfect. There are two issues, possibly related / one and the same:
- Sometimes it seems to simply not work. I'll be connected to my work wifi, and may have been for some time, and the connection to PIA just won't fire up automatically. It usually fixes itself when I go into the app itself. I thought perhaps the issue was battery optimisation on the app, so I've disabled it - possibly solved, not sure I've seen that since
- Definitely still a problem: it seems to be quite slow to react sometimes - like just now, I connected to my work wifi and it took a good couple of minutes to notice and fire up the VPN.
Basically - is there anything I can do to increase the reliability of trusted networks? It's not like I do anything that bad on my work wifi - but it makes me uneasy that isn't quite as rock-solid reliable at connecting as a previous third party client I was using was (VPN Client Pro).
Thanks!

Have you tried the following:
- change servers
- cycling servers
(connect to one server, disconnect, select a different server, disconnect, re-try the original server)
- change ports and protocols (tcp/udp)
- upgrading to newest version
- clear cache and cookies in the browser
- changed browsers to see if one is faster
- performed a clean uninstall/reinstall
(uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling a fresh copy)
- logged out of the application and reboot the device
(then logged back in to try and connect successfully)
- enable the 'Use Small Packets' setting in the app
