I have a port forwarded with openvpn... how does this work?
I'm trying to get port forwarding setup through the terminal on Debian linux. I used the script found here and PIA responded with a port. I inputted that port into my application.

Couple of questions:
- Do I have to forward any ports on my router in order for this to work? I have read that openvpn "listens" on port 1194, but I'm not 100% sure how this works in conjunction with my router's port forwarding.
- Is there a way to forward a specific port to an internal one using PIA? For example if there was no VPN connected I could port forward a custom external port to internal port 22 for SSH. Is it possible to do this with openvpn connected to PIA?

Comments
No, you do not need to forward the port on your router.
As for your second inquiry, you would not be able to designate a port, these are auto assigned.
I hope this helps!
