Plex remote access config behind VPN

Hi! I hope somebody can help because this is definitely outside of my expertise.

I have PIA VPN setup for my asus router and one of my devices is a mac mini that is also my plex server. The mac mini is behind PIA VPN.

I want to be able to stream music from my plex server to my amazon echo connected to my stereo. In order to do that I had to enable remote sharing for plex but it doesn't work. I think I need to set up port forwarding or something (?) but not sure how to go about that.

    Hello!

    Unfortunately, we do not directly support the Plex Server device. This does not mean connecting is impossible, we are not able to assist. However if you navigate over to our Reddit page, you may be able to see forum pages and discussions about other users successfully setting up PLex with PIA.     As Plex is not a product of PIA, we have very little control of changes they make on their end which makes the two software harder to connect with one another.

    i have been trying to get PIA & PMS to play nice for about 2 weeks now. I followed your steps (i also have a fios router & windows 10), but xflak’s script isnt working for me. It keeps on timing out. According to his readme, i need to disable IPV6, which i did, but still no luck.
