How to specify Network Interface to Bind to

edited October 2019 in Windows VPN Setup
How do I tell the PIA Client in Windows (win7) which of the two interfaces to bind to? The PC has 2 interfaces (Ether, WiFi) and I need to have the VPN connection over the WiFi only.
I know with OpenVPN client, I could specify the address to bind to, and the PIA client seems to have a relationship with OVN, but it's unclear how I'd add this config requirement into the PIA client (or a text config file).
Any guidance would be appreciated!

  • Hello Subin,

If you are using the WiFi for the VPN, and attempting to use the Ethernet for local access, I would recommend simply disabling the Ethernet connection in your network and instead try ticking the box on the connection tab in the PIA settings for "Allow LAN Traffic" instead. Having 2 enabled network interfaces at the same time can allow for IP Address leaks to occur, as well as it can cause ambiguous gateway errors in the PIA client.
