PIA app seems to wake up my Macbook Pro and keep it awake

In the mornings, I find the Macbook awake even though I closed the lid to put it to sleep at night. Couldn't figure out the cause until I disconnected the VPN connection before putting the system to sleep. Then it stayed asleep. "Wake on network access" is disabled in System Preferences. I'm guessing the app is apparently trying to connect but can't without Wifi being active, so it keeps trying, keeping the system awake.

  • I would like to have you try establishing a manual connection to PIA rather than using the auto setting for server selection to PIA. This is an unusual situation that is occurring, and I believe that it may have to do with the PIA application pinging the available servers so that when you do next attempt to connect automatically, PIA will select the server that has the lowest latency time. Additionally if you are not using PIA overnight, maybe it would be best to exit the application before going to bed.
