Mac OSX PIA Client Interferes With Bonjour/Filesharing/Screen Sharing
Several weeks ago I switched from using Tunnelblick to using the PIA client. I did so because I was having instability issues that I thought were due to tunnelblick, but I have since realized it was due to a faulty power supply for my modem. During the period that I used the PIA client I noticed some strange things begin to happen on my home network. Network shares would often go unrecognized in finder (i.e. they could not be accessed via the sidebar). Often if they were recognized, attempting to connect would lead to a timeout/error message. Timemachine could not longer find remote backup disks. Homesharing was no longer recognized in iTunes either. Oddly if I connected via Go -> Connect to server, I could access shared files/disks, and if I entered the vnc address I could use screen sharing. However even if I mounted disks via this method, Timemachine would not recognize remote backup disks.
I've since switched back to using Tunnelblick and all is once again good. I just thought you'd like to know that something seems amiss. I'm perfectly happy using Tunnelblick as my connection client. You guys provide an excellent service at a great price. Thanks for all your hard work!
