It will not matter in the slightest bit what format the file is. And the only reason I said no compression is that it would just take up time on your system to do it. It will not matter one bit when the client is seeding it.
Hmmm. I really am out of touch with torrents. I was stuck forever on the "Retrieving Metadata" part before it could download anything. So I disconnected from the VPN since I could see I had 0 DHT nodes showing. (Meaning something was likely screwed up in my setup.)
I never saw any activity on my end. I'll disconnect from VPN and see if that makes any difference on your end.
Be certain you have your torrent client clear of data that would get you in trouble before giving it access without the VPN. I would hate the be the reason you get a (Clearly false) DMCA notice.
Yeah, I made sure of that. The only offending torrent would have been the test torrent from the top 100 list, which I didn't even want and have already deleted from my computer.
cosmoxl: I've tried testing torrents with a high percentage of leechers before, but I am following your advice just in case. As expected, I am getting a great download speed, but a bad upload speed. I'll become a seed momentarily.
I was connected to approximately 15-20 peers, but as soon as I finished downloading the "leechy" torrent I immediately lost connection will all peers (just as I described in an earlier post).
I am certain at this point that this is not an issue with testing the wrong torrent. When I happen to be downloading, things seem fine. When my downloading is finished, I instantaneously lose connection with all 20+ peers.

*Edit* Duh! I guess it would make the test easier if I connect to the VPN too...
seeding something from a public tracker using the settings I gave usually flies for me unless the number of leechers is low.
just sort the list of the movie section by number of leechers and pick the one with the most.
