Unless you want to let Firefox control everything you do, go back to version 67 and stay there. I personally do not want Firefox controlling my passwords and other things. Therefore, I will not upgrade beyond version 67. Once Firefox becomes a dog I will then seek another browser that does not use "the cloud". Very dangerous trusting the cloud unless you can encrypt your files.
I think starting with Firefox 68, all the data that was stored on the local machine in the profile was moved to Mozilla cloud. I know when I upgraded to the next version of Firefox I was told that files stored in my profile were no longer there. That I needed to setup an account with Firefox to access those files. Among them was my passwords. Because of that, I reverted back to Firefox 67 and will not upgrade.
I could be totally wrong about this, but I do recall being told a lot of files that were normally in my profile are no longer there.
It wasn't Sync. I would remember that because I don't need that feature. I specifically recall reading during installtion that Firefox will not store some data on the local machine for security reasons. I could be wrong, but for whatever reason I made the decision not to move beyond 67.0.4. Appreciate the link explaining Sync.
Hello! We are aware of the Firefox issue at the moment and are working on a solution. Please uninstall, reboot, then reinstall the Firefox Browser Extnetion - as we have implemented a resolution.
