Are VPNs (PIA) going to work with ***STARLINK*** ?

I like millions of others not living in cities and suburbs in the U.S. and relegated for the past 25 years
to slow internet am anxiously awaiting my turn to get connected to STARLINK.
As I sit here I am wondering if VPNs will even work with STARLINK?
Has PIA started any work on getting into the STARLINK BETA Program to start working
on this ahead of time. The PRIVATE BETA is going on now and the PUBLIC BETA will be
opening soon (For latitudes 44 to 52 degrees initially). By the end of 2021 all of us (in the U.S.) who have
been confined to slow and expensive Internet access will hopefully have much faster connections
via STARLINK. I hope that PIA is working on getting this going (experimentally). So when the mass
of us get approved for connection we are not left waiting for PIA to catch up. And hey it will even
connect your difficult locations there in ISRAEL eventually.

  • We currently do not have anything in the works but I can relay this suggestion to our team so we can look into it in the future. We appreciate your suggestion!

I have two locations, one is truly what is considered "rural" in western Virginia hill and valley country (I have only cell provider internet from a single vendor available there) but the other is in NJ where the I95 corridor fiber bundles virtually run directly under my feet, and I have deathly slow (and getting slower) Verizon DSL (nominally 764 down, half that up, but never comes close to even those lame specs). They don't offer anything more here, FIOS was a fraud designed to get regulatory concessions, and VZ capped installations shortly after those were obtained. Only other option is Comcast internet bundled with cable TV, and if anything, they make the VZ butt-bozos look good... So I'd love to have a real alternative. I hope Starlink is real, I signed up to be a trial user at both locations, but I fear it will turn out to be nothing but vaporware,
  • Well it's not "vaporware"...They've launched over 500 satellites already and are doing a Private Beta Now...Download speeds are about 60Mbps down and upload speed looks to be about 15Mbps (These are leaked tests from current Beta testers in the northern latitudes). (Pings are running 20 to 60mS but that should improve). Current private beta testers had to sign an NDA but people have leaked their testing thus far...Search on the STARLINK REDDIT FORUM and you'll be able to follow as much as possible what's going on right now with the project.
