Why can't I get PIA client 0.45 to connecton Win7_32 Pro?
I've been round and round with technical 'chats' on this getting lots of
info but no solution. Finally I have made a kind of breakthrough:
Here's the setup:
Win7_32 pro basic install with a couple of apps.
Running as Administrator. Checked Admin rights and no locks on folders.
No firewall running
No AV running
All Win services disabled by default set to manual or automatic for good measure.
The Win OS is as basic as it gets.
No naming of the client versions, so it is not easy to judge before you try.
Version
0.45 Installs just like all the others and picks up my 'default'
settings, but the PIA icon sits in the tray 'connecting'.
Nothing connects, the wired interface has IP connections (IPconfig) but the client interface DHCP has discovered nothing.
I saved the log folder.
Then I went back to version 0.35. Fortunately every time I saved a download I renamed it with the version number.
That installed over V0.45 carrying my login and default settings.
Within seconds I got connections.
I saved the log folder.
I don't want to be a Beta tester anymore on a paid for service.
Has anybody else had these kind of problems? Is there a rock solid stable version of pia_client I can trust?
