Billing Request

My credit card changed, and when period ended PIA sent me link to give them my new card info.  My card is going to change every time.  I hate the idea of clicking on a link sent to me through nonsecure email and then entering private information like that.  As a rule I never use links sent to me in email.  But in this case, I did not see any other way to accomplish the task.

Please offer a way to navigate to the same page on PIA website so I can get there myself, rather than having to trust emailed link.  You already support the page, just seems like no way to get there.  Keep sending links if you know other customers want them; I would like an alternative.

You all seem very keen on security in so many other ways, I think this ought to make sense to you?

  • Every time you renew your subscription, you will get a new login and password. And you can subscribe a day early each time if you want to ensure no-one can eavesdrop. Besides, the servers that handle your payment are every bit as secure as the VPN is.

And you can make a secure freebie email account purely to use for this if you want to. Just pick out a free server that is secure. Here is a good one that works fine and costs nothing.

Mail.riseup is not a free email, your account will have to be manually approved. It might not be depending on what you want it for.

You might want to look at this other list, there are no preconditions to their free email services:

  • Riseup has never made any attempt to charge me anything. I guess they just decided in my favor. Oh well.

I have to disregard the link you sent since I use a SMTP setup instead of webmail junk. I do this so I can use GPG with Thunderbird.

Their website textually states that they are not a free email provider.

    This is from their FAQ:

Mutual Aid: our services are not free. Please contribute your fair share of riseup.net's ongoing expenses.
