Private Internet access

PIA should have at minimum a paid tech support line.

I just tried another VPN, as a trail version and it informed me that I was using an older OPEN VPN driver than the one Private Internet access is using.

It asked me if I would like to use the newer version of course I said yes. I verified that I was running the latest version of PIA and I am, but for some reason there software is not up to date.
I am having IE EXPLORER Revocation Certificate Errors, and other issues running Windows 7.
Not sure what PIA is doing if they are updating their software and certificates, and then I get this Ruby.exe as Malware.
But yet on the other VPN I am trying out, I have zero errors, no malware, no revocation errors and an updated Open VPN driver.
I really like Private Internet Access but the program seems to have a lot of issues, and it seems they are not responding to these issues.

  • Hi techie,

I deeply apologize for the issues you are experiencing. Our VPN client is using an older version of the TAP adapter, but one that is perfectly secure and stable. Most users do not experience any issues with the TAP adapter that is provided with our software. If they do, we do offer an updated TAP adapter for use as well.

Regarding the issues with Internet Explorer, these are rather odd. What sites are you seeing them on? What VPN server are you connecting to?

We would be more than happy to assist you with the issues you are experiencing. I would recommend submitting a ticket at the following link:

So that we can best review the issues and attempt to provide a resolution for you.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if there are further questions.

    Thanks.
