Program won't even load.

I signed up for 1 year of PIA cause i heard it from Linus, ive been using it for not even a week and i'm already having big issues. The program won''t even load, i can't even use the thing. I've tried reinstalling and that did it the first time i had this issue but now even reinstalling doesn't work. Private Internet Access and pia-service.exe show in the task manager, it might even be running but i don't see it in the task bar.

  • Can you be a little more specific, like, what OS you are using and what version of PIA you are loading. You may want to totally uninstall the program to include removing the PIA adapter. Then once that is done, clear your cache. After that is done, reboot the local machine. Once you are satisfied that everything related to PIA is gone, go ahead and reinstall the program. Make sure you do a normal install without customizing anything until the entire program is installed.
  • I'm using windows 10. I have uninstalled PIA and cleared the cache. Then reinstalled it through the pia-windows-x64-1.6-03756.exe setup package and it's currently working. I'll post again here if i have the same problem again

  • OK, when you open the app, upper right corner there are three dots. Click on that.
    Select SETTINGS.
    Left side bottom select HELP
    Find SUPPORT
    Put a check mark in the Enable Debug Logging
    Close that window.
    Open the app again and press the start button
    Wait a few minutes, If nothing happens go back to SETTINGS / HELP / SUPPORT and click on the Submit Debug Log.
  • The issue is that the program won't open in the first place. I can't select settings or do anything with it, i can only see that it's showing in the task manager. I've reinstalled it one more time and enabled debug logging.
  • Sounds like the PIA services on you PC has stopped. Next time it happens, hit Win key and R then type services.msc. A window will open. Scroll down to Private Internet Access and make sure the service is set to Automatice and has started. You can manually disable/enable the service as well as start/stop the service.
