In the case where users want to use MACE (not available in the Google Play Store version), we recommend downloading the APK version of the PIA Android App. Use the instructions below to do:
Step 1: Navigate to the Download page and tap the Download APK (advanced) link
Step 2: After clicking the link, it will ask permission to download the APK, tap Download to continue
Step 3: Your device will ask if you want to install the application, tap Install
Step 4: Once the app has finished installing, tap Open to launch the PIA app
Congratulations! The app should now be installed. For more information on how to connect and how the app works, navigate to the Understanding the Application Settings guide here.
If the APK downloader does not initiate installation you will likely need to allow installation from an unknown source. Use the instructions below to do this.
Step 1: After selecting the APK file link, a window will appear asking to download the file. Tap Download to proceed
Step 2: The installer will now notify you that your device is blocking the installation of apps from unknown sources, tap Settings to allow installation
Step 3: The settings screen of your Android device should now display, tap the Unknown Sources setting to enable it
Step 4: A warning will appear about installing from unknown sources, so long as you are installing directly from our site the download is safe. Tap OK to continue
Step 5: The installation window should now display, tap Install to complete the installation of the application
Step 6: The app is now installed! Tap Open to open the application and connect to the VPN.

NOTE: If the download does not redirect to the installation window requesting permissions for installing apps from unknown source you'll need to locate the APK file in either the File Manager, My Files, or Downloads folder. Most Android phones have a built-in files organizer now, and by default, the APK file will go into the Downloads folder.
i.e.: On a Samsung Galaxy, you should see an app called My Files in the app drawer. On an LG phone, there should be an app called File Manager. On a Lenovo Moto phone, you should see an icon for Downloads in the app drawer. If you can’t find a files or downloads option on your device, then install a free file manager app — A good app for this is [ES File Explorer File Manager](https://www.digitaltrends.com/go/?provider=manual&url=https%3A%2F%2Fplay.google.com%2Fstore%2Fapps%2Fdetails%3Fid%3Dcom.estrongs.android.pop).
Once you have found the APK, tap it to initiate the install
