For users using or wishing to use our Legacy versions (v82 and below) of our client on your Windows system, you can find the instructions for installing and uninstalling below.
While we understand that some users wish to continue to use our legacy application please be aware that we no longer provide technical support for these versions and we highly suggest that you use our most current stable application version here.
Installing the Legacy Client:
Step 1: If you have not already done so, please download the desired legacy version of our application here.
Once the download installer completes, open the .exe by Double clicking the Installer app.
Step 2: Right-click the downloaded installer file and select “Run as administrator” to start the installation.
Step 3: The Windows User Account Control (UAC) prompt will open asking for the administrator password. Type in your Admin password and select “Yes” to continue.
Step 4: As the application is installing a Setup window will appear with a series of options for you to enable:
1. Select your desired language by clicking the drop down menu, once ready select ok
2. Create a desktop shortcut for the application (optional). Ensure that the check box for Create a desktop shortcut is enabled and then select Next
Step 5: Once you reach the end of the setup windows for the application select Install
Step 6: Once the installation process completes the application will open allowing you to enter your login credentials. which you received within the email address you used to purchase your account. (example of Username p1234567). Check any options that interest you. Then press Save.
Step 7: You can now connect to the VPN, just right-click the client icon within your Taskbar and select Connect.
Uninstalling the Legacy Client:
For users who wish to uninstall the legacy client or are experiencing issues with upgrading their application to our stable client we offer three ways in which you can remove our client: Using the built-in Uninstaller, Manually Uninstalling or Uninstalling through the Windows Control Panel. Below you will find the steps for each option.
Uninstall using the built-in Uninstaller
Step 1: Open the Windows start menu and search for Uninstall Private Internet Access
**Note:** On Windows 8 and above, there is no search bar. To perform a search, simply start typing on your keyboard even if there is no search bar.
