Android - Change DNS (Android Wi-Fi Settings)

There are two Ways to change the DNS settings on Android Devices.

  1. Within the PIA App

  2. Within the Android Device Settings

Change DNS With PIA App

To Change the DNS within the PIA application, please follow the below instructions:

Step 1: App

Open the Application

Step 2: Settings

Go to the application Settings by selecting the three horizontal lines in the top left Corner

The main menu settings should now display, tap Settings

Step 3: Change DNS

Once in the Setting menu locate the DNS option under the Connection section. There the application will be automatically connected to PIA’s DNS. Tap DNS.

# Step 4: DNS Options

Here you will be able to ensure that PIA DNS is used or you can select Custom DNS.

Step 5: Warning

The application will provide you with a warning prompt notifying you that use of a non PIA DNS could expose your DNS traffic. If you are ok with this select OK

Step 6: Custom DNS

Here you will be able to enter your desired DNS address within the Primary and Secondary DNS options. Select SAVE

Step 7: Reconnect

Once all has been saved it may be best to disconnect and then reconnect to the VPN.
