LAS VEGAS, Nevada, April 4th, 2019 — Private Internet Access (PIA), one of the leading virtual private network (VPN) services is forging its first OEM partnership with Purism, maker of secure hardware, software and services to deliver the ultimate combination of private, encrypted tools and services to the market.

Purism is classified as a Social Purpose Corporation, because they are dedicated to bringing privacy and software freedom into the digital lives of consumers around the world through their Librem line of computing devices. These honorable ideals led to an endorsement from the Free Software Foundation, and several partnerships with like-minded companies such as Nextcloud for secure document management, Nitrokey who developed Purism’s Librem Key, Matrix secure chat and now Private Internet Access, one of the leading VPN service providers.

“PIA is the gold standard of VPNs, and we are thrilled to be working with a company that is so closely aligned with our ethics,” said Todd Weaver, founder and CEO of Purism. “Our partnership with them is a big win for users who don’t want to sacrifice convenience or freedom in the products they use.”

Despite being in business since 2010, this is the first OEM partnership for Private Internet Access. “Purism has been an important player advancing the cause of internet privacy and freedom and are the perfect partner for us to work with on integrating PIA into a broader suite of hardware and software,” said Ted Kim, CEO of Private Internet Access.

Purism plans to include Private Internet Access’ VPN software on their Librem 13 and Librem 15 laptops as well as the Librem 5 smartphone. Combining PIA’s VPN apps and service with Purism’s secure hardware and software products will give consumers an easy to set up, privacy protecting device, right out of the box.

“Combining our privacy protecting VPN capabilities with Purism’s line of products will provide the ultimate security package to users,” said Ted Kim, CEO of Private Internet Access.
