Most modern browsers, Mozilla Firefox included, offer to save your usernames and passwords, making it easier to login to your favorite websites. Over time, these login credentials may change, or you may stop using a website that has a saved login. Fortunately, Mozilla made it easy to delete your saved passwords in Firefox.

Why you should delete all saved passwords in Firefox

While it is convenient to store your login credentials in your browser, it is also be a privacy and security risk. If a friend or family member, or even a repair man accesses your computer, they will have access to your account on any website that has a saved login. If your computer becomes lost or stolen, or if a hacker is able to remotely gain control of it, this information could very easily fall into the wrong hands.

How to get to the delete saved passwords screen in Firefox

1. Open a Firefox window.

2. Click on the menu option in the top right corner, then click “Options”.

4. Select the Privacy and Security tab.

5. Go to Saved Logins under Forms and Passwords.

How to remove an individual password in Firefox

1. Go to the Saved Logins screen (see instructions above).

2. Select the website in the list on the left, then click “Remove”.

3. Click the red “Remove” button.

How to remove all saved passwords in Firefox

1. Go to the Saved Logins screen (see instructions above).

2. Click the 3 dot icon on the top-right of the screen, then click “Remove All Logins”.

3. Check the box marked “Yes, remove these logins”, then click the “Remove All” button.
