PIA Adds 15 VPN Server Locations, Bringing the Total to 104 Countries and Territories

Updated on Sep 30, 2026 by Nicole Forrest

We’ve added 15 server locations to the PIA VPN network, bringing our total to 170 locations across 104 countries and territories (up from 91 countries). You don’t need to do anything to get them: they appear in every PIA app automatically.

New Locations, New Possibilities

The expansion extends PIA’s coverage to 13 new countries and territories while adding city-specific options in two popular markets already served by our network: Tottenham in the UK and Naples in Italy. They’re available for users who want a connection that looks local at the city level rather than just the country level, which matters for regional content access and for cutting latency in dense metro areas.

Middle East, Africa & Central AsiaPakistan, Uzbekistan

Some of these new servers are virtual server locations. When you connect to one, you receive an IP address associated with the location you selected, while the underlying server is hosted elsewhere. Virtual locations allow us to offer IP addresses in more locations.

This setup is useful when you need a local IP address but operating infrastructure or local laws may not live up to PIA’s strict privacy and security standards. As always, any virtual server locations are transparently indicated in the PIA apps and our server network page, so you can make an informed choice before connecting.

Whether physical or virtual, all our servers leverage PIA’s 10-Gbps server network and industry-leading encryption standards, running on RAM-only infrastructure that wipes any session data on reboot.

A Bigger Server Network for A Better Online Experience

The location expansion is part of PIA’s ongoing commitment to network improvement. We target underserved areas where demand is highest: the Caribbean, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.

Expanding coverage in these regions means PIA users can:

  • Switch servers to avoid congested locations with greater ease
  • Connect to a server that’s closer to their actual location to help reduce latency
  • Get a local IP address associated with more countries, territories, and cities
  • Access locally relevant websites and services while protecting their traffic
  • Choose a connection that better suits their browsing, streaming, or gaming needs

Actual speed, latency, and content availability can vary based on factors including the user’s physical location, ISP, selected server, account, and third-party service.

Our expanded network continues to operate under PIA’s court-tested No-Logs policy. Independent Deloitte audits have examined whether our server systems and management procedures align with that policy. Together with our privacy-first network architecture, this ensures that when you connect to our new or existing PIA VPN server locations, we’ll never log your browsing activity.

Get Connected to 170 Locations Worldwide

Existing users don’t need to reinstall the PIA apps or sign up for a new plan. The new locations will be automatically available in all supported PIA apps and you can add them to your Favorites list with just one click.

We will continue to enhance PIA’s server network to give users even more choice over their online security and privacy.
