Private Internet Access Next Generation Network now available for beta preview
Private Internet Access beta users are now able to access Next Generation VPN servers on the PIA network using out beta desktop clients and mobile apps. To do so, make sure that you’re on the latest beta version and navigate to the Help section in Settings. There, you’ll be able to switch between the “Current” and “Next Generation” network options. Once you select “Next Generation” your VPN server list will automatically depopulate the current VPN server list and repopulate with only Next Gen servers.
Private Internet Access Next Generation Network unveiled
These next generation servers, lovingly called Gen4, are much improved from the current network of VPN servers in a few ways. This brand new VPN infrastructure has been carefully designed to enhance speed, reliability, and security for our cherished VPN users. The Next Generation VPN servers are available to connect to using OpenVPN and WireGuard®. Stay tuned for more details!

Next Generation servers are available for preview in just a handful of locations at the moment but the amount will grow as part of our Network Expansion Plan. Those locations are:
- US California
- US New York City
- UK London
- UK Manchester
- DE Frankfurt
- Hong Kong
- Amsterdam
Beta users will also notice that the new geo-located regions are also available in this latest beta release. To stop the client/app from showing geo-located regions, simply toggle the “Include Geo-Located Regions” option in the Help section in Settings.
